Santiago Calatrava Architecture

Santiago Calatrava is my favorite architect, his designs are unique and anthropomorphic. I was surprised to learn that he had done the new white concrete Quadracci Pavilion for the Milwaukee Museum of Art (I need to take the short trip there soon). My favorite tower of Calatrava’s is Turning Torso in Sweden. Recently a 2,000 foot tower in Chicago has been proposed which would make Chicago the homeplace of the country’s tallest building.

A Nessus fork called OpenVAS has been announced. Word came from Renaud Deraison / Tenable Security in early November that Nessus 3.0 would not be released under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Various organizations have offered help for OpenVAS including big names like SourceFire.

I was perusing the Madison, Wisconsin Wikipedia entry and saw this great photograph of the the city from across Lake Monona. It had been uploaded to Wikipedia from the Flickr account of Todd Klassy, who has taken some great photographs of Madison as well as surrounding towns and countrysides. Incidently, there’s a Madison, Wisconsin Flickr pool which gets some use.
